 Do I need to subscribe Blackberry data service for Wifi and GPS?
Article The GPS and Wifi hardware are included in Blackberry 8820. No additional card is needed. Let me explain how it works with and without Blackberry data service subscription.

For Wifi connection, you can connect your Blackberry to any home and office Wifi network. Wifi works with/without Blackberry data service subscription. While you cannot use Blackberry-branded software without Blackberry data service, you can use many free third-party application for the same purposes.

For example, you may use:

- Bolt(recommend) or Opera Mini for Web browsing
- IM+ for texting
- GMAIL Mobile for emails

For GPS mapping software, there are many choices out there. Blackberry data service is not required (except Blackberry Map).

Some popular choices are:

- Blackberry Map (pre-loaded software, available with Blackberry data service subscription)
- Google Map (free, data service required if Wifi is out range)
- Mobile GMap (free)
- Spot for Blackberry (fee applies)
- Garmin Mobile (fee applies)
- Trimble Outdoors (fee applies)
- TeleNav GPS Navigation (fee applies)
